Jane Maigua est la PDG d\u2019Exotic EPZ, une entreprise de transformation et d\u2019exportation de noix de macadamia bas\u00e9e \u00e0 Nairobi, au Kenya. L\u2019entreprise a \u00e9t\u00e9 relanc\u00e9e en 2017 sous la direction de Jane et a d\u00e9velopp\u00e9 son approvisionnement en noix de haute qualit\u00e9 vers les Pays-Bas ainsi qu\u2019une base de clients en croissance aux \u00c9tats-Unis, en Espagne, en Allemagne, en Italie et en Chine. Jane a deux partenaires commerciales, Charity Ndegwa et Loise Maina, et ensemble elles ont cr\u00e9\u00e9 la seule entreprise de transformation et d\u2019exportation enti\u00e8rement d\u00e9tenue par des femmes dans la cha\u00eene de valeur de la macadamia en Afrique de l\u2019Est. Exotic EPZ emploie 187 travailleurs, leur offrant un emploi d\u00e9cent, et s\u2019approvisionne en noix brutes aupr\u00e8s de plus de 9 000 petits exploitants agricoles. Parmi les employ\u00e9s de l\u2019entreprise, 85 % sont des femmes et 75 % sont des jeunes. L\u2019engagement d\u2019Exotic EPZ en faveur de la durabilit\u00e9 environnementale se manifeste par l\u2019utilisation de l\u2019\u00e9nergie solaire pour faire fonctionner son usine de transformation et le recyclage des coques comme combustible pour les chaudi\u00e8res, en plus de l\u2019utilisation de syst\u00e8mes de transformation \u00e9conomes en \u00e9nergie.
